AWS Data Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver efficient reporting solutions in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition from an MSSQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
- Design and build a reporting layer that allows non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in enterprise environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured or non-relational data
