AWS Data Engineer II
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer II will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient data reporting and querying in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining optimal storage formats and query performance strategies
- Design and build a reporting layer to facilitate SQL queries for non-technical users while managing AWS data catalog and metadata
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices to maintain data infrastructure using AWS-native tools
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven track record in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience considered
