AWS Data Engineer II
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time AWS Data Engineer II will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage and query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver efficient reporting solutions in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of data from MSSQL to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
- Evaluate and recommend AWS data services to meet business reporting needs and design user-friendly query layers
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for data infrastructure management
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services, including S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
