Azure Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

Bridging the gap between cloud infrastructure development and security, the remote Azure Cloud Security Engineer will build automated solutions, develop custom scripts, and leverage Microsoft Defender for Cloud to ensure visibility, compliance, and threat mitigation in a contract position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated deployment and lifecycle pipelines with a focus on security guardrails
• Manage and operationalize Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Cloud Workload Protection Plans across enterprise workloads
• Write custom Azure Policy definitions and remediation tasks to enforce automated security measures

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering and Security, specifically with Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep, along with scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Cloud Workload Protection Plans
• Demonstrated ability to write custom JSON-based Azure Policy definitions and exemptions
• Mandatory Azure certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and either Cybersecurity Architect Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
