Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Building scalable and secure backend services, the full-time Backend Engineer will design and operate APIs and data systems for Compound's protocol, working remotely while collaborating across decentralized protocols and traditional software systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs to enhance the usability and integration of Compound's protocol
- Develop reliable systems for processing and reconciling on-chain data across various networks
- Collaborate with protocol engineers to maintain robust interfaces and workflows between on-chain contracts and off-chain services
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with production services and APIs
- Strong experience in modern backend languages such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or Rust
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, and service reliability
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based production systems, including containerized services
- Strong security mindset, including authentication and authorization best practices
