Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Building and operating distributed systems, the full-time Backend Engineer will focus on ingesting, storing, and querying telemetry data at scale, utilizing technologies such as Go, Java, Kafka, and Kubernetes, in a remote or Cupertino-based environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain distributed systems for telemetry data processing
- Implement strategies for data optimization, including compression and tiering
- Collaborate across the tech stack to ensure system reliability and performance
Required qualifications
- Strong, recent experience in building large-scale distributed systems
- Proficiency in Go, Java, and related technologies
- Ability to handle ambiguous problems from design to production
- Experience with observability, APM, or monitoring tools is a plus
- Familiarity with time-series or columnar storage internals is advantageous
