Job Summary
Building and operating distributed systems that ingest, store, and query telemetry at scale, the full-time Backend Engineer will work with technologies such as Go, Java, Kafka, and Kubernetes, focusing on making high-cardinality data fast and affordable.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain distributed systems for telemetry data ingestion, storage, and querying
- Implement strategies for data optimization including compression, downsampling, and tenant isolation
- Collaborate across the technology stack and engage with customers to improve system reliability and performance
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in building large-scale distributed systems
- Deep understanding of system fundamentals and generalist capabilities
- Experience operating systems in production environments with a focus on reliability
- Ability to tackle ambiguous problems from design through to production
- Familiarity with observability, APM, or monitoring is a plus
