Job Summary
To support a growing digital health practice, the full-time Backend Engineer (PHP / Laravel) will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize high-throughput RESTful APIs in PHP using the Laravel framework, contributing to new feature development within an Agile/Scrum process
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and internal services, deploying applications in Docker containers across AWS environments
- Write automated tests for back-end functionality and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience with PHP and the Laravel framework
- Experience with AWS services and Docker
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and automated API testing
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Deep experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance optimization
