Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To design and implement the next generation of Affirm's Checkout Platform, the full-time Backend Software Engineer will work remotely to build financial products, create APIs, and enhance system performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative solutions to solve large-scale problems within the checkout systems
- Own components of the checkout systems, ensuring their long-term health and improving surrounding systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop the next generation of the checkout platform
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Proven track record of developing, testing, and shipping high-quality software at scale
- Experience with Python, Kotlin, RPC, Redis, MySQL, and AWS
- Strong ownership mentality and ability to drive technical decisions within a team
- Empathy for user experience and a customer-centric approach to development
