Job Summary
Working remotely as an independent contractor, a B.C. Licensed Rigging TD will implement animation control rigging systems for complex characters and props, collaborating with the Lead Rigger to ensure all rigs meet show requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Implement animation control rigging systems using Maya for characters and props
- Partner with the Lead Rigger to ensure all rigs meet show requirements and oversee rigging through the animation pipeline
- Develop tools and plug-ins to optimize animation and rigging workflows while troubleshooting character-rigging issues
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in character rigging and animation techniques/technologies
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, structure, dynamics, and character motion
- Mastery of Maya and/or 3ds Max
- Experience with game engine rigging and animation systems (Unity, Unreal, or similar)
- Solid all-around knowledge of 3D software, including scripting, modeling, animation, and rendering
