Job Summary
Building and maintaining the data foundation for analytics products, the full-time BI Engineer will design and manage data pipelines, modernize the BI platform, and ensure data quality while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Designs, builds, and maintains data pipelines and models to transfer data from source systems into the data lake and SQL layer
- Leads modernization efforts for the BI platform, including evaluating architecture options and retiring legacy pipelines
- Partners with business leaders to translate reporting needs into data models, ensuring data freshness and quality checks
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, BI engineering, or back-end systems development
- Strong SQL skills for writing, optimizing, and validating queries against operational data
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for a data warehouse or data lake
- Experience integrating systems through REST APIs, including authentication and error handling
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python or PowerShell
