Big Data Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summary
As a technical lead for the big data infrastructure, the full-time remote Big Data Infrastructure Engineer will deploy, upgrade, and operate core services like HDFS and S3-compatible object storage while managing the transition to a more efficient data platform architecture.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy and manage big data infrastructure components, including HDFS and Apache Ozone
- Implement compute and storage quotas, and migrate to advanced Iceberg catalogs
- Rebuild monitoring and alerting systems to enhance operational efficiency
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating big data platforms
- Hands-on experience with HDFS/Hadoop, including deployment and troubleshooting
- Experience with S3-compatible object storage solutions, preferably Apache Ozone
- Familiarity with Apache Iceberg and setting up monitoring for data infrastructure
- Proficiency in English at a B2 level and ability to work in the GMT+3 time zone
