Bilingual Medicare Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

To support members navigating government benefits, the part-time Bilingual Medicare Eligibility Specialist will engage in compassionate conversations, determine eligibility for Medicaid and Medicare Savings Programs, and ensure accurate enrollment while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Make and receive calls to assist members with Medicaid and Medicare applications and retention
• Gather and verify sensitive personal and financial information for accurate enrollment and recertification
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and company standards while managing multiple software systems

Required qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish (speak, read, write)
• 2-3 years of experience in healthcare, eligibility screening, case management, or high-touch customer service
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, SCHIP, or Special Needs Plans (SNP) is preferred
• Comfortable navigating multiple software systems and documenting information in real time
• Ability to manage difficult conversations and use probing questions to clarify information
