Billing Customer Service Representative
Job Summary
Providing essential support to patients and insurance carriers, the full-time Billing Customer Service Representative will manage incoming calls regarding billing inquiries, educate patients on their responsibilities, and assist with claims processing, with the flexibility to work remotely after completing initial training onsite in Louisville, KY.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and respond to incoming phone calls from patients and insurance carriers regarding billing questions and concerns
- Provide excellent customer service by educating patients on their bills and resolving issues independently
- Assist in filing secondary paper claims and routing incoming documents to the appropriate billing staff
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, TEAMS) and Adobe
- Understanding of insurance deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10 and CPT)
