Billing Reimbursement Specialist

Job Summary

To support the growth of the organization, the remote Billing Reimbursement Specialist I will manage the reconciliation of medical claims, focusing on increasing cash flow and reducing bad debt while processing independent laboratory claims and patient billing.

Key responsibilities

• Work on incoming correspondence and appeals, reviewing accounts to resolution
• Contact Third Party Payers to follow up on claims and manage appeals and denials according to payer guidelines
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintain billing records in compliance with privacy and documentation procedures

Required qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in accounts receivable, billing, insurance, or healthcare, preferably in laboratory insurance billing
• High School Diploma required
• Working knowledge of coding systems such as CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Hands-on experience with medical billing and reimbursement processes
