Job Summary
Responsible for the timely submission of medical claims, the full-time Billing Specialist will work remotely to verify patient information, perform billing functions, and ensure compliance with billing guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Utilize hospital/physician systems to verify patient and claim information for accuracy
- Perform primary, secondary, and rebill billing functions, including electronic and paper submissions to payers
- Monitor claims for missing information and secure necessary medical documentation for third-party insurance carriers
Required qualifications
- 1-2 years of medical collections/billing experience
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI coding
- Familiarity with third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic understanding of health information systems (e.g., EMR, Claim Scrubbers)
