BIM Subject Matter Expert
Job Summary
To support a growing Substation Team, the remote Substation BIM Subject Matter Expert will advance Building Information Modeling (BIM) practices, provide technical leadership, and ensure successful project execution while collaborating with project teams, clients, and leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Substation BIM standards, workflows, and best practices while providing production support and quality assurance
- Support project managers in technical execution strategies, project delivery approaches, and coordinate BIM activities among teams and stakeholders
- Mentor and train designers, drafters, and BIM professionals, promoting knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the organization
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, BIM, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or an Associate degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- 10+ years of experience in BIM, CAD, design, or engineering support roles
- 2+ years supporting electric utility, power delivery, or substation projects
- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Experience creating BIM content, families, templates, and standards, with a strong understanding of model coordination and digital project delivery workflows
