BS/MD Physician Advisor

Job Summary

To support high school students navigating the competitive BS/MD admissions process, the part-time remote BS/MD Physician Advisor will mentor clients by evaluating candidacy, editing application materials, and preparing them for interviews while collaborating closely with a College Advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong working relationships with college advisors to support applicants throughout the application process
• Evaluate the candidacy of high school students, assessing academic performance and extracurricular activities
• Edit personal statements and supplemental essays, and prepare students for admissions interviews

Required qualifications

• MD or DO physician (attending preferred; residents and fellows considered)
• Successful graduate of a U.S. direct medical program (BS/MD, BA/MD, BS/DO, or BA/DO)
• Demonstrated firsthand knowledge of the BS/MD or BS/DO admissions process
• Experience mentoring or advising students applying to medical school or direct medical programs
• Strong editing and writing skills, particularly with college and BS/MD application materials
