Job Summary

Supporting a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project, the remote Business Analyst with Public Trust will connect USDA's environmental review business needs with the technical development team by translating complex NEPA processes into actionable user stories and system requirements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the USDA Product Owner to document business needs related to NEPA environmental review processes
  • Develop, refine, and prioritize user stories for various users including USDA staff and the public
  • Analyze current environmental review workflows across USDA agencies and identify opportunities for automation and improvement
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst on IT projects, with at least 2 years supporting federal government clients
  • Experience documenting and analyzing complex business processes and translating them into technical requirements
  • Demonstrated experience writing user stories and managing backlogs in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of federal environmental review or permitting processes is a plus
