Business Risk Officer

Job Summary

To support the scaling of product development, the full-time Business Risk Officer will manage non-financial risk management programs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure best-in-class product delivery, with the option to work remotely within Canada or the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential blind spots in processes and controls, recommending enhancements
• Facilitate pre-launch initiatives and track items to closure, escalating as necessary
• Manage incident and issues documentation, ensuring remediation aligns with company frameworks

Required Qualifications

• 5 - 7+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or financial services focusing on business risks and controls
• Proven ability to balance risk, compliance, and customer experience in cross-functional settings
• Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) practices and non-financial risk frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence without direct authority
• Proficient with AI tools or a willingness to learn to enhance efficiency in risk and controls work
