Job Summary
Seeking a remote contract Cable Headend and Video Distribution SME, the candidate will provide operational and technical expertise in cable headend operations and video distribution, focusing on the end-to-end video signal path and collaborating with engineering and operations teams.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert in cable operations and video distribution, offering technical guidance to teams
- Review and assess technical solutions and operational plans, ensuring they are practical for live video headend environments
- Identify operational risks and challenges early in the planning process, providing insights into industry practices and operator expectations
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cable video engineering, video distribution, or headend operations
- Significant hands-on experience with video distribution in cable headend environments
- Deep knowledge of the cable video signal path, including satellite reception and video processing
- Experience within a major cable operator or large-scale video distribution organization
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
