CAD Drafter/Designer
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the contracted CAD Drafter/Designer will create precise, production-ready designs using AutoDesk Inventor, focusing on steel sheet metal components and large-scale mechanical assemblies while collaborating closely with engineers and clients in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings for steel sheet metal parts
- Collaborate with engineers to convert concept designs into manufacturable drawings
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and coordinate with fabrication teams
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certificate in drafting, mechanical design, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a CAD drafter or designer in a manufacturing or mechanical design environment
- Hands-on experience with AutoDesk Inventor
- Familiarity with steel sheet metal design and large-scale assembly design
