Job Summary
Leading statewide recycling education and outreach efforts, the full-time salaried California Communications Director will develop and execute integrated communication strategies to support the implementation of California's Extended Producer Responsibility program, while working remotely.

- Direct statewide recycling education and outreach campaigns, ensuring alignment with national strategies and local relevance
- Oversee the California communications strategy, including media engagement and the development of comprehensive messaging frameworks
- Manage large-scale program delivery and budget allocation to maximize impact and efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in communications, education & outreach, or public engagement, including leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale outreach and behavior change programs
- Strong understanding of California's recycling and solid waste management system
- Experience developing proactive communications strategies in complex regulatory environments
- Proven ability to manage teams and significant budgets effectively
