California Compliance Manager

Job Summary

Leading the HR compliance function, the full-time People Operations Compliance Manager will ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations while providing strategic guidance on policy administration, risk management, and workplace investigations, with a flexible work arrangement that includes remote, hybrid, and in-office options.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee HR compliance programs and policies to mitigate organizational risk
• Monitor and interpret employment laws, implementing necessary policy updates
• Provide guidance on compliance matters, including FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience focused on compliance and employee relations
• HR certification, such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP, preferred
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, compliance practices, and risk management principles
