California Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time California Disability Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and guide employees through return-to-work strategies in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manages assigned caseload of Short Term/Long Term Disability claims while ensuring timely and accurate benefit determinations
• Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide exceptional customer service
• Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions and regulations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
• Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
• Proficient in computer applications such as Excel and web-based systems
