Job Summary
Managing the full leave of absence process from request to return-to-work, the full-time California Leave of Absence Specialist will work remotely with occasional onsite training in San Diego, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws while providing excellent customer service to employees.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and manage leave requests, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA accommodations, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Communicate effectively with employees regarding their leave status, responsibilities, and documentation requirements
- Assist in drafting and revising company leave policies to maintain compliance with applicable laws and improve processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience with knowledge of leave administration
- Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) certification required within 180 days of hire
- Strong knowledge of applicable state and federal leave laws, including FMLA, CFRA, and ADA
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Workday software preferred
