California Licensed Behavioral Counselor

Job Summary

Providing crisis intervention and behavioral health access, the part-time California Licensed Behavioral Counselor will manage calls from the 988 Lifeline, conduct screenings, and connect individuals to appropriate care while working remotely from anywhere in the U.S. during scheduled evening and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and chats, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards
• Conduct behavioral health screenings and provide customized referrals based on individual needs
• Document interactions accurately and assist in training crisis line staff to maintain compliance and quality benchmarks

Required qualifications

• Master's Degree or Doctorate in human services or behavioral health field
• 2+ years of post-graduate behavioral clinical experience
• 1+ years of crisis management experience
• 1+ years of experience working with diverse populations
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
