California Licensed Behavioral Health Advocate

Job Summary

To support the County of San Diego's 24/7 Access and Crisis Line, a California Licensed Behavioral Health Advocate will provide remote crisis intervention and behavioral health services, conducting screenings and triaging calls while working part-time Thursday through Sunday from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health screenings and triage crisis calls, texts, and chats to ensure safety and appropriate care
• Perform crisis intervention using solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing techniques
• Document clinical interactions accurately in the electronic health record and adhere to compliance standards

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health discipline with an independent behavioral health license
• Active California License: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychologist
• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience providing direct clinical services
• Experience working with diverse populations and various psychological disorders and addictions
• Proficiency in using personal computers with a typing speed of at least 45 words per minute
