California Licensed Behavioral Health Advocate

Job Summary

To support the County of San Diego's 24/7 Access and Crisis Line, the part-time California Licensed Behavioral Health Advocate will provide crisis intervention and behavioral health services remotely, utilizing clinical judgment to triage calls, conduct screenings, and link individuals to appropriate care.

Key responsibilities:

• Answer calls, texts, and chats within established service levels while conducting behavioral health screenings
• Provide crisis intervention and ensure safety by utilizing therapeutic techniques and de-escalation strategies
• Document all interactions in compliance with clinical service requirements and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health discipline with an independent behavioral health license
• Active California License as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Registered Nurse (RN), Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience providing direct clinical services, including psychosocial assessments and treatment planning
• Experience working with diverse populations and various psychological disorders and addictions
• Proficiency in using personal computers with a typing speed of at least 45 words per minute
