Job Summary

Reviewing SDS and OBV records for coding accuracy, the full-time remote California Licensed Certified Coder will abstract and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Abstracts and assigns diagnosis and procedure codes from patient records for accurate reimbursement and data submissions
• Audits medical records to ensure compliance with federal and state coding regulations and provides feedback to departmental leadership
• Follows up on coding holds and communicates with relevant departments regarding charge corrections and modifications

Required qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Three years of coding and healthcare experience required
• Working knowledge of hospital Cerner EMR required
