California Licensed Charge Master Specialist

Job Summary

Serving as a charge capture and charge description master expert, the full-time California Licensed Charge Master Specialist will support clinical service line leaders in complex procedure areas, ensuring best practices and compliance with payer requirements while performing charge reconciliation and implementing improvement initiatives remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Champion standardization of the charge capture process and ensure discipline-specific compliance
• Perform charge reconciliation activities and conduct industry best practice research
• Identify and deploy charge capture improvement initiatives to enhance revenue management opportunities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information, Nursing, Imaging, Clinical Laboratory, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 years of recent relevant experience in charge capture or related fields
• California RN, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or COC certification, depending on the service line supported
• In-depth knowledge of medical billing terminology and healthcare coding systems
• Ability to develop and deliver education materials specific to service lines
