California Licensed Compliance Consultant

Job Summary

To support compliance initiatives in medical coding, the full-time remote California Licensed Compliance Consultant will independently review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, validate documentation, and resolve complex coding issues while serving as a compliance subject matter expert.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review and assign ICD-10-CM codes for inpatient, outpatient, and professional medical records
• Serve as a compliance expert, assisting with coding questions, auditing, and ensuring adherence to national coding policies
• Conduct compliance reporting and investigations by analyzing data and identifying potential risks and remedies

Required qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of medical coding experience
• Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical, Law, Public Health, Business, or a related field, with three (3) years of experience in health care compliance or related areas
• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder
