Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the California Licensed Compliance Consultant will independently review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ensuring compliance with national coding policies while resolving complex documentation issues and supporting compliance reporting efforts.
Key responsibilities:
- Independently review and code inpatient, outpatient, and professional medical records for compliance with regulations
- Assist with compliance reporting and investigations, analyzing data to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
- Serve as a subject matter expert on coding functions, providing support and guidance to stakeholders on compliance-related topics
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of medical coding experience
- Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical, Law, Public Health, Business, or a related field, along with three (3) years of experience in health care compliance or related areas
- Certification as a Risk Adjustment Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder
