Job Summary
To support compliance in medical coding, the full-time remote California Licensed Compliance Consultant will independently review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, validate documentation, and resolve complex coding issues while serving as a subject matter expert in compliance and coding functions.
Key responsibilities:
- Independently review and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes from various medical records
- Serve as a compliance subject matter expert, assisting with coding questions and auditing processes
- Conduct compliance reporting and investigations, analyzing data to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of medical coding experience
- Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical, Law, Public Health, Business, or a related field, along with three (3) years of experience in health care compliance or related areas
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder
