California Licensed Compliance Counsel
Job Summary
Overseeing Convoso's compliance program, the full-time salaried California Licensed Compliance Counsel will manage compliance with federal and state laws related to telemarketing and privacy, provide legal guidance across various departments, and collaborate with external counsel on specialized matters.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies and procedures related to telemarketing and privacy laws
- Advise customers on compliance best practices and handle regulatory inquiries and complaints
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements while providing legal support to internal teams
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state, eligible to practice in California
- 7+ years of relevant experience in compliance and/or legal practice, preferably in telecommunications or regulated technology
- Working knowledge of outbound calling and messaging regulations, including TCPA and FTC rules
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology agreements
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly
