Job Summary
Providing practical, business-oriented legal support, the full-time California Licensed Corporate Counsel will draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, advise cross-functional teams on legal risks, and manage matters from intake through signature and closeout in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, vendor, and clinical agreements while advising on contract structure and risk allocation
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to align on scopes, budgets, and compliance issues, ensuring all agreements reflect accurate terms
- Maintain accurate matter status in the contract lifecycle management system and coordinate signature workflows while providing clear updates to business partners
Required qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar (California preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, particularly in drafting and negotiating complex agreements in biotech or healthcare
- Demonstrated experience with a varied agreement portfolio, including MSAs, clinical trial agreements, and data-related agreements
- Working knowledge of life sciences and healthcare contracting issues, including HIPAA and data privacy
- Hands-on experience using contract lifecycle management and electronic-signature systems
