Job Summary
To enhance coding integrity, the full-time California Licensed Documentation Auditor will conduct audits, reviews, and special projects remotely to ensure compliance with coding and documentation guidelines while preparing detailed audit reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and reviews to monitor the accuracy and quality of coding and documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings and recommendations, and provide education to relevant teams on coding practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new processes that support regulatory needs and organizational goals
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two years of experience in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including chart auditing and coding reviews
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, or related field, along with five years of relevant experience, or six years of experience in a directly related field
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
