Job Summary
To enhance coding integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, the full-time California Licensed Documentation Auditor will conduct audits, reviews, and special projects remotely, focusing on the accuracy and quality of coding and documentation across assigned lines of business.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and reviews to monitor coding accuracy and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Prepare detailed audit reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement processes and workflows that align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two years of experience in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including chart auditing
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, or equivalent certification required at hire
- Experience in health care compliance, operations, audit, or medical record review
- Strong knowledge of coding and documentation guidelines and regulations
