Job Summary
To enhance coding integrity, the full-time California Licensed Documentation Auditor will conduct audits, reviews, and special projects to monitor the accuracy and quality of coding and documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and reviews to assess coding accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Prepare detailed audit reports and provide education on identified risks and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes that support organizational goals and regulatory needs
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including chart auditing
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or six (6) years of relevant experience
- Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, or equivalent certification required at hire
- Experience in health care compliance, audit, or medical record review
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
