Job Summary
To enhance coding integrity, the full-time California Licensed Documentation Auditor will conduct audits, reviews, and special projects remotely, ensuring compliance with regulatory and reimbursement requirements while preparing detailed audit reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and reviews to monitor the accuracy and quality of coding and documentation across assigned lines of business
- Prepare audit reports detailing identified risks and opportunities, providing education as needed to stakeholders
- Develop and implement new processes and workflows that support regulatory compliance and organizational goals
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including chart auditing and coding reviews
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, or related field, or six (6) years of relevant experience in health care compliance or coding
- Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
