Job Summary
Owning assigned firmware features from requirements analysis through design and implementation, the full-time California Licensed Firmware Engineer will develop maintainable embedded software in modern C++ while collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing diagnostic tools to resolve complex issues.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software using modern C++ with a focus on object-oriented design and error handling
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to clarify requirements and resolve cross-functional issues
- Create unit and integration tests, contribute to automated testing, and support continuous integration to enhance software quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in developing embedded or firmware software
- Strong C++ programming skills, including object-oriented design and memory management
- Hands-on experience with embedded development and diagnostic tools, such as debuggers and emulators
- Experience with Linux-based development environments and source control systems like Git
