Leading the legal strategy for a global business, the full-time California Licensed General Counsel will provide executive counsel on corporate governance, product innovation, and compliance while guiding a lean legal team in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Set legal function priorities aligned with business strategy and manage corporate governance and risk
- Oversee legal aspects of financing, M&A, and strategic partnerships while managing significant litigation and regulatory inquiries
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure compliance with evolving AI regulations and consumer protection laws
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of in-house legal leadership experience in technology or regulated industries
- Proven experience as a General Counsel or senior legal leader with responsibility for legal strategy and executive advice
- Demonstrated fluency in AI and its application within legal frameworks
- Strong corporate generalist judgment with expertise in governance and complex litigation
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar and a J.D. degree
