Job Summary
To provide compassionate in-home veterinary care, the part-time California Licensed Hospice Veterinarian will deliver hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services to pet families in Rancho Cordova, Folsom, and Gold River, California, while enjoying a flexible schedule and professional autonomy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services
- Travel independently to scheduled appointments and practice effectively in a mobile veterinary care environment
- Educate pet families on quality-of-life decisions and maintain accurate veterinary medical records
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or equivalent veterinary medical degree
- Active veterinary license in California or eligibility to obtain one
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate empathetically during sensitive conversations
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds
