California Licensed Hospice Veterinarian
Job Summary
To support pet families in Sacramento and surrounding areas, a part-time California Licensed Hospice Veterinarian will provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia services, focusing on individualized veterinary care in a mobile environment without the constraints of a traditional clinic.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services
- Independently travel to scheduled appointments and practice effectively in a mobile veterinary care environment
- Educate pet families on quality-of-life decisions and maintain accurate veterinary medical records
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary program
- Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate empathetically during sensitive conversations
- Availability for rotational weekend scheduling as required
