California Licensed Hospital Coding Director

Job Summary

To lead the strategic direction and quality of the Medical Center coding team, the full-time California Licensed Hospital Coding Director will manage coding operations, oversee staff training and auditing, and ensure compliance with coding standards in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the performance of the coding team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement coding education programs and ensure adherence to compliance and quality standards
• Analyze and improve revenue cycle processes related to coding, charge capture, and billing to optimize reimbursement and data integrity

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, healthcare information management, or a related field
• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in healthcare coding and revenue cycle operations
• At least three (3) years of managerial experience in a healthcare setting
• Proven knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including coding, billing, and reimbursement processes
• Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
