Job Summary
Leading Teradata's intellectual property strategy, the full-time remote California Licensed Intellectual Property Counsel will oversee a team of IP professionals, manage global IP portfolios, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the global IP strategy, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, aligned with business priorities
- Oversee the Product Counsel function, ensuring legal input is integrated throughout the product lifecycle
- Advise on legal issues related to AI and data-driven products, ensuring compliance and responsible innovation
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum of 12+ years of relevant legal experience, particularly in intellectual property and product counseling
- Demonstrated experience leading global IP strategy and managing patent and trademark portfolios
- Technical fluency in software, data analytics, AI, or cloud technologies is strongly preferred
- Experience building scalable legal processes and governance frameworks to enhance efficiency and risk management
