California Licensed Leave Manager
Job Summary
Leading the comprehensive leave and accommodations function, the full-time salaried California Licensed Leave Manager will manage casework, ensure compliance, and support employees through the leave process while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the full leave lifecycle from intake to return-to-work, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and multi-state leave laws
- Supervise a Leave of Absence Specialist and collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Legal, and HR Business Partners
- Manage relationships with third-party leave carriers and vendors, including system integrations with HRIS platforms like UKG and ADP
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive experience in LOA and accommodations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Expertise in FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, PWFA, and multi-state leave laws, with a preference for California leave law experience
- Experience managing third-party leave carriers and vendor transitions
- Proficiency in HRIS and leave case management systems, preferably UKG or ADP
- Ability to handle complex and sensitive casework with sound judgment and compassion
