Job Summary
To support AI research initiatives, the part-time California Licensed Legal Coder will provide domain expertise, develop annotation guidelines, and evaluate data quality while working remotely for a temporary duration of three months.
Key responsibilities
- Guide research teams to enhance AI model performance in specific legal practice areas
- Create and maintain high-quality annotation guidelines to ensure accuracy in training data
- Evaluate vendor-produced annotations and provide feedback to optimize data quality
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent in a law-related field with a valid Bar Licensure
- 10+ years of experience in legal practice, teaching, or related roles
- Experience with Claude code/AI tools and proficiency in coding (Python preferred)
- Extensive subject matter expertise in US or international legal practices
- Strong analytical abilities and experience in quality assurance processes
