Job Summary
To support a growing in-house legal team, the part-time California Licensed Litigation Attorney will manage early-stage litigation matters related to a high-volume tort portfolio, including drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and handling initial Case Management Conferences, with the flexibility to work remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Independently manage early-stage litigation matters, including drafting and reviewing pleadings
- Communicate with opposing counsel regarding claims and negotiate early resolutions
- Handle initial Case Management Conferences and ensure efficient case management
Required qualifications
- Active California law license
- Strong experience in California civil litigation, preferably in general tort or insurance defense
- Ability to manage multiple active matters with minimal supervision
- Experience with premises liability, personal injury, and motor vehicle accident claims
- Availability for approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for increased hours
