Job Summary
Providing coding and abstracting services, the full-time California Licensed Medical Coder will work remotely to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines while mentoring non-credentialed staff.
Key responsibilities
- Code and abstract outpatient services according to federal and state regulations and hospital policies
- Ensure quality coded data for various purposes including reimbursement and research
- Mentor and support non-credentialed coding staff in their professional development
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Coder, preferably in pediatric coding or a large teaching hospital
- Proficiency in ICD 10 and CPT coding assignments
- CCS or CPC credential with continuing education units to maintain certification
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
